I am curious to see how many game stores implemented a proof of vaccination to enter or play. This isn't exactly the sort of information that's easily found or even discussed online so I'm creating a poll. In order to keep the thread from getting locked lets keep the replies focused on how many shops required PoV to enter or play and if you're comfortable sharing, where you found them.

Don't name the stores, and lets not discuss the policy itself.

Anyway, I found 3 in Alberta.

I'm not sure how helpful this data will really be - for example I chose 1 but that's because there's only one game store in my area/one that I know the policies of.

A percentage based system might be better: like 100% of the local stores in my area do - all one out of one of them.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

Just looking to collect some rough data from around the dakkaverse. My vote doesn't really mean much either because I'm not exactly sure how many game shops are in my city.

You missed the option of "none".

It was a government requirement, so for a while it was all of them. It's no longer a government requirement, so now it's none of them (at least the ones I've been to... which is not many).

It's still a government requirement for restaurants but a lot of them have stopped (or were never) asking.

None, as with NZ. It is not required here now.

i'd also like to vote "none", as it was never a requirement to provide proof of vaccination here either, AT LEAST FOR GAMING STORES. Their were strict customer number limits, no games or hobby activity in store, and masks were mandatory everywhere, but the stores didn't ask for proof (nightculbs and stuff like that did for a while, but the regular stores didnt).

since "none" wasnt an option, and it was a government legal requirement for some venues, i voted "all" since even if it was enforced (in other parts of the country that i just didnt see), it was was a legal requirement rather than a store being picky).

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

You might need to attach a date to this poll as the situation is very dynamic. As noted several times above the policies within countries have changed so the answer that is right for today was not right for 1 month ago and likely won't be correct in 1 months time.

It's a "none" here too, but mainly because the UK has generally dealt with Covid restrictions by implementing a face mask policy and number restrictions on venues rather than proof of vaccination. A couple of types of place require vaccines but very few.

Why isn't there a "none" option? I think you overestimate how widespread these policies were. I live in one of the states that implemented some of the strictest COVID measures (yknow, the kind that people of a certain political persuasion decried as evil or authoritarian or whatever), and not a single store I know of in the area had a PoV requirement.

None that I know of in North Texas. This poll should really be remade with an option for zero.

Huh... I suppose that's saying something... I'll add a zero. That just hadn't occurred to me, strange.

None in NW Pennsylvania.

An addition - I have a concert next week that was requiring proof, but an email two weeks ago stated that is no longer required.

In my area it isn't done, but nor is it necessary--local culture was pro vaccine from the onset and anti-vaxxers are relatively rare.

Nobody here did, FL is very pro freedom. I can't think of any business that actually required them at any point during the pandemic. Some places had signs but it was along the lines of "we would appreciate it if you wore a mask" rather than "no entry without mask".

At this point I don't believe any of them do. I don't think any of them ever had a PoV requirement though for a bit masks were required but now that Covid is gone (sarcasm) there are no requirements. At best a few may have a sign saying masks are welcome but not mandatory.

None of the stores have or had a proof of vaccination requirement, but the one I frequent did require masks for quite a while. They're easing up now, but I still wear mine to be safe.

In my area, neither FLGS is requiring any kind of proof of vaccination, but last time I checked both were requiring masks to be worn while in the store (can confirm for one of them as I was in there just the other day). No authorities in my area have been enforcing vaccination or mask wearing for anything anymore either; it's been left up to local business owners how they want to handle that. Even my workplace (a major retail chain) no longer is requiring masks to be worn by employees or customers.

I have 3 stores I (used to) frequent. Only one required PoV to play, and a mask just to shop. The other stores couldn't care less about any of it.

It was interesting to see this poll go up without a none option.

I must admit I am ashamed that it did not occur to me that people may not have had that option. And I don't even watch TV! Social conditioning is real.

Stores around these parts pretty damned quickly dropped any POV requirements as soon as the government stopped making it a requirement, and even before that there were plenty of stores who weren't really checking or just making a show of it because they were scared of fines.

PoV wouldn't have flown around here.
Just mask requirements sent some people into fits.

Heck, my coworker and I just got told we are 'making things worse' because we're currently wearing masks. There's a non-zero chance the guy will start flipping out within the next hour.

I hate dealing with the public.

In my area none of my local shops (those within a 30 minute drive) did.

Two did have mask requirements (enforced at one, lip service at best at the other). And one suspended any in-store play until last summer/fall.
Both had limited occupancy for a period.
One offered online/phone ordering & curb side pickups.

A third? Is too damned small & waaay too crowded to bother walking into if you've got any health concerns.
No PoV, no mask requirement, no suspension of play (beyond the mandatory shut down period in 2020). No occupancy limit.
As a result? Judging by the continously full parking lot? They were packed with maskless MTG players sitting shoulder to shoulder 2 ft across from each other as waves of Covid washed across the area....
