Hello!

I'm calling the pirate dude done. Not exactly happy with him but it was good practice.

Then on to some WIP shots of the second band of ashigaru. Early days but I think I'm on the right track with these dudes

Finally, a miniature off the bushido range. I'm painting this one for a friend who will be using it in his dnd campaign. He's running a drunk monk and asked for blushing cheeks and a drunk man's nose. Slowly getting there.

Thanks for stopping by, cheers.

Drunk monk is a fun looking model. His face has a lot of character already.

It's been fun working on him too. I don't have any progress on him though...

I did finish one armoured samurai since last update, that's all.

I wanted to use a little red to contrast the paler yellow color but it's got a bit too much perhaps.

On to the next miniature!

Cool color scheme. Like an L5R Lion.

Now you made me want to paint a lion on his banner. I'll have to look into that soon.

Also finished this handgunner. I'll do basing once the lot is fully painted. The face could use a little more love though. A lot more...

Two painted miniatures in as much days? I'm surprised myself!

Hey there! I hope everyone is keeping healthy.

The second clan is well on it's way to completion. Only to finish the archers and do the basing.

The field will need some love as well. Started on some statues and another building. I'm planning on adding some moss to the statues. Some nice overgrown stone lions.

That concludes my hobby efforts for this update, thanks for visiting!

The house and lions are great terrain elements. Especially the statues. I look forward to seeing a picture of your guys milling around them.

Thanks for the feedback guys, very much appreciated!

I finished the core of the second band. I can start expanding both warbands now.

Remembering i had the Sohei kit laying around, I dug them up and had a go at them. This is the leader of the band, early WIP. I don't think I'll ever play them as a warband but they are cool models to spread out.

Besides that, I cleaned up my workspace. Much more room now. I tossed a lot of old scrap. Now to keep it organized, daunting idea.

Thank you!

The sohei only needs basing now. While working on him, the colors I chose for the armor didn't really look good at first. But in the end it turned out ok I guess.

I would love to hear feedback on this one! I still have some doubts concerning the armour.

Next up is some terrain. I painted the second house and got the lions finished. I rushed the pictures so sorry for that.

That's everything for now. You'd think I got some more hobby time in with this terrible virus/lockdown going on, but to be thruthfull a lot of time has been wasted on video games...

Thank you very much guys!

I have another unarmoured samurai to show. Pretty happy with him, but I might need to revisit the face and the green coat later.

I also worked on the first expansion for the two warbands, some banner bearers. Again, some easier banner designs which worked out good for the green clan.

Next up will be another group of three spearmen for each of the clans. Or, you know, whatever takes my fancy first.

Hello hello!

I'm back, after a little break.

First of all, thank you for the kind words, both of you.

Now, hobby wise, I have one (1) whole miniature to show you. Humble beginnings but the ball will start rolling eventually. The only thing I need to do here is do the eyes. I have more stuff I'm working on but none of it is ready to show really.

That's it for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Flapjack,

You need to post one photo at actual model size to show how much detail was put into a model so small.

Excellent work.

Hello and welcome!

Thanks to all of you, and thank you for the tip Captain Brown. I must confess I'm taking my pictures with a smartphone camera though.

Took the brushes out again and I have some more miniatures ready for basing.

Some more spearmen...

Also, finally managed to get this big boy done, which took way too long considering it was for a friend.

And lastly another Sohei warrior monk.

I want to finish those monks soon as I want to get their new set eventually. Some awesome new sculpts in the new set.

That concludes my late night update.

Thanks for stopping by!

Absolutely great work .

I almost picked up the second edition of ToH recently, but the shipping killed it for me and their US distributor was out of all the main things . Looking forward to seeing more of your work as the mounted guy is perfect.

Thanks guys, appreciated!

I took a look at your ToH and Bushido stuff, Theophony, and it's top notch stuff. Im looking forward to see you add to that collection. Hopefully your supplier stocks up soon.

Grey For Now just announced their first expansion to Test of Honour, so that's some exciting news. All the more reason to get stuff done and get a game in. I've only played this game back in 1st edition.

In a surge of activity I managed to get 4 more miniatures done.

Some more ashigaru for the second clan and another Sohei archer.

Playing Ghost of Tsushima is a real motivator and inspiration to get more mini samurai done. Starting a Jin Sakai inspired warband is surely on the list of things to do.

As always, thanks for popping in!

Greetings.

I did some work over the weekend. Finished another Sohei and some romanians in winter dress for Bolt Action.

The romanians were a nice change from paining samurai. I painted these much quicker than an average ashigaru. The Sohei looks a bit rushed as well. To be fair, this sculpt didn't really catch my eye. Still somewhat happy with him.

First of all, the Sohei.

Hello friends.

I dusted off my tau stuff and now they have some more hooves on the ground. Well, only 2 pairs to be fair. My tau stuff is on a slow burn right now. Still have to come up with some custom fluff for this personal sept. And paint lots more ofcourse.

Couldn't help myself, bought another start collecting tau box. Mainly because I wanted some breachers and a chance to convert the ethereal into a fireblade. I like the official sculpt for him, but I just had to have a go myself.

It's a relatively easy conversion and I look forward to painting him up. Maybe he needs some new neck armor because i cut away the original. Plan was to go for a helmet but bare heads just scream out 'I'm the boss' more in 40k.

Thanks for dropping in!
