Painted both of my Air Elemental Rooks, one Ice Rook and one Earth Rook from LOKA. Also played a game of Arabian Nights and LOKA at the game store. The more I play, the more I enjoy LOKA. Highly recommend it if you have three buddies and you're looking for a new game.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Got my regiment tray done, working on getting my skeletons onto nails for spraying and painting. Also want to tackle that sorak, should be a pretty easy scheme. Depending on when it comes in, I may do a quick unbox of Sedition wars retail unbox over on the blog.

Made a gentleman's agreement to never use unpainted anything in our games of 40k from here on out, effectively nullifying 80-90% of my collections. Cleared the field, though. It no longer matters what you have, it's what you've painted. Starting with 500 pts skirmishes and our own homebrew restrictions (no flyers until 1500 etc..).As of a week an a half ago, I have 5 Death Guard Terminators @ 90% and 10 Plague Marines @ 90%. On deck is the Forgeworld Nurgle sorceror and 10-15 cultists. 500 pts FAAC! (fun at all cost). I have until Feb. 15th to get it painted or incur a penalty (buy my opponent a $20 model. Do those even exist anymore?)

I am The Fury. The flames of my rage will incinerate you. I came back from space. As I returned, I had one vision. The world set ablaze. And do you know what I saw there? (he aims his flamethrower upwards and incinerates a group of bats) Fury! A great and terrible Fury at being alive. Now you're going to feel the scorching heat of that horrible blackness.

That agreement should be a great motivator, EOT. I made a decision last year to limit myself to one unpainted unit per game max (preferably none) and it's made me a) get a move on and b) enjoy my games a lot more. If you've got the rest of your group in too, It should be a good thing for all of you.

Today I got half a dozen more enforcers painted in a new scheme, far cleaner than my last one. The DZ-specific enforcers are great models, especially the sniper. I've not got all the plague done, and can easily do painted forces for the Rebs and Enforcers. The Marauders have yet to even see a paintbrush, but I might start them once I get bored of Enforcers.

Trying to do this myself, as an incentive to paint.

My daemons it's not an issue, as they are almost all painted.

My DE can manage tiny 500-800 Pt all-coven skirmishes, so i have serious painting to do.

I can field 2-3000 pts of fully painted orks, but the unit selections are a bit random, as i paint what inspires me at the time.

Warmachine, and its sister game (which you can both play together) Hordes is a relatively good game. It is the Igougo format, but what it has over 40k is a tightly written ruleset and great balance between the armies. Also, if you get the Starter set, it is in Plastic, but it is a much different plastic than what you are used to with GW so you need to use super glue to put it together since Plastic cement will not work.

I like the painted or else clause. So much more fun with painted minis.

Yay mail, I definitely get to unbox sedition wars tonight. Reading it over there seems definite possibility of fun. I'll have to look up the FAQ thats supposed to fix some kind of imbalance, but for now I'm gonna take pictures and sort out some forces to play the smaller end of the game. See what I can get done before deadzone shows up.

Khador - slow, powerful weapons (but a bit inaccurate), heavy armour. Nasty in close combat.

Cygnar - fast, big on repeating shots, accurate, low armour, tendency towards many smaller jacks rather than a couple of big ones

Cryx - Mechanical nids. In your grille, then they melt it off before carving you like a sunday roast.

Menoth - Defensive/heavy armour minded, with a flame and torture motif.

Don't know much about the scyrah and the new faction. Just thinking about starting Hordes too, so clueless there.

I am happy with my choice to move to Dystopian Wars as my main game.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Convergence is basically all about synergy, support and using what you have to its full potential (through combos, special moves, etc.)

Also, Mercenaries cover a lot of play styles, depending on who your Caster is and what you take.

I've got my initial Sedition wars stuff lined up, 5 vanguard and 8 strain at the plate. Going to clean them, and see about getting them primed. Gotta think of some colors though. Maybe I'll just carbon copy the studio scheme, but I'm thinking I want to do simple game-piece quality, so I may make some changes and or tone it down.

We have been playing quite a bit of Dystopian Wars in my gaming group lately. I like the back and forth turn sequence quite a bit. My only gripe is that games seem to take forever to play.
