Started painting the LOTD, and remembered how much I hate painting black. Still, they look OK, I'll try and get pics up when the squad is done.

Painting up the finale member of my Mandalorian inspired Astra Millitarum command platoon, so far I am pleased with how they turned out. But my only gripe is that I really wished I was better with GS so I could add more of that Mandalorian feel to them

Tonight I am going down to my local gaming club and taking someone through their first ever game if bolt action. I shall be using my British paratroopers and he will be using his russians.

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Seconded!
I myself am painting a rather unique Legion of the Damned for my AM army. Guardsmen Ghosts, specifically. Got some busted up, broken IG bitz a while back and went to work with a drill and knife adding bullet holes and fatal wounds and such. Now they are being painted ghostly green-white and getting q-tip fluff "mist" bases.

I'm hoping to paint some Indians for my 15mm American War of Independence British force. I'm also working on DeLancey's Brigade from the early years of the war (Green coats with white facings.) I've given them the pimp-hats they wore later in the war though; it's a pretty cool distinction unique to the unit as far as I'm aware.

Which caster where you and the other person playing? I know Menoth can be a pain to fight against since they like to cheat within the context of rules, and love denial up the ass. I know this is because I play Menoth and often I face other Menoth players in my area. :p

I was using Iron Mother and he was using some guy with a big ball and chain. He had zealots tossing bombs all over the place and for one crucial turn they were invulnerable to pretty much everything.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Big Moo is, in game terms, a Chaos Spawn for my Alpha Legion army. In model terms he is a Beastman Ghorgon, with some dragon wings moulded onto his shoulders and another clawed arm growing out of his butt. he's not as much fun to paint as he was to convert, so i tend to do it in spurts!
still working on the assault marines and the spawn. finished the chaplain, not happy really with how it came out but never mind. i'm now building the chap who will be captain of the second company. he's based on a metal calgar with new arms. it's a good start.

They're coming along nicely. I was a huge fan of that vehicle in the Aeronautica Imperialis scale
Now that my painting cue is cleared, I think it's time to assemble some retribution of scyrah and weather some 15mm tanks.

Played a couple games of something that my friend put up on Kickstarter: check out "Chronosphere" if you're a history fan. The game is fun, good for a group, and it's a lot of fun to mess around with the timeline to screw over your friends by setting them into losing situations. I haven't looked at the KS page yet, but it's fairly easy to learn, and is well worth playing.
