Right, spent another 3 and a half glorious hours working on my Pathfinder character, Cirno. The only thing missing the highlight / layering is the skin, everything else is done maybe except the boots that are kinda begging for a little something extra.

Right, so today I'll probably do a final push to finish the skin, OSL and final touches and hopefully she'll be done.

TDL, you are going to end up breaking someone's neck when they inevitably knock her off the table with a d20....

Envious of the tenacity though, never been able to spend that long on one mini.

Working on my enforcer color scheme, after some spot-on advice, I think I've just about got it.

I saved my Dwarfs today.

I have been having a huge clearout of 20 years of hobby stuff, during which I threw nothing away whatsoever, and in a fit of over tidying decided my old Dwarfs

Spoiler:

could go too, that was a day or two ago. However thinking back to the time I put into them (despite their thoroughly 5/10 tabletopness), I relented and upended the huge bag full of bits I'm chucking to get them back. After a hour or two of sifting and sorting I have now prepared a large box filled with old foam and lovingly stored them away, in the hope I get a game one day.

A neck? Way too fast of a kill for someone who commits such an atrocious sin

Well, first part of the objectives for today are pretty much done, I painted her skin and at the end I looked at her and thought "It's hideous" I did a Rakarth Flesh base and gradually lighted it up to a pallid wych flesh, but the skin was far, far, faaar too dark for my tastes.
I have managed to fix things up a bit thanks to a pallid wych flesh glaze (thank you Lahmian Medium, you are a GOD for painters) but the face still bothers me to no end.

Right, time for a big break, later on I hope to 100% finish her.

Ahh I remember discovering sleep paralysis shrouded lord. It's kind of terrifying isn't it Usually wake up very slightly with an *intense* desire to roll over or turn my head but I can't, panic a little, then fall back asleep. Creepy stuff. Hopefully doesn't happen too much to you, i can only remember maybe a half dozen times i've had it happen and I'm swiftly closing on 30.

Natural part of sleep, so your muscles can heal and such, just uhh... not supposed to be awake then

J'ever do the one where you almost fall asleep, have a terrifying notion that you've just walked off a cliff and then you're wide awake after your legs kick out? Had that one a few times too

TDL bwahahahah.

@Para looking forward to your bones progress

I've put down the first (hopefully only) layer of spackle/whatever onto my jungle cliff/bridge of DOOM to add some perils to the next Pulp Alley game. I'm hoping to finish the building portion today by adding some steps to get to the bridge. Then I can start painting. Still trying to decide if I want to add jungle trees or not.

They're amost done, hopefully tomorrow the grey skies will finally clear and I'll be able to take some pics that aren't super-glarey or super-dull. On a side note, I'm very impressed with the quality of the Bones stuff, I'll definitey be grabbing more in future. The only issue is that many of them fall into the 'want but do not need for gaming' category, so they end up lower down the priority list. If that were no concern, I could easily blow £100+ on the range and still not be done (especially ones the Bones 2 stuff hits retail), but there's a lot of LotR/Deadzone/Infinity/Malifaux/40k (probably in that order at the moment) stuff that I have far more use for.

Right, I'm calling Cirno done.

Spent a good amount trying to fix the skin as best as I could and I managed a result I'm kinda happy with. Not perfect, but I learnt valuable lessons with this first attempt at painting a woman's palid skin.
Finished the tiny bits of OSLs this miniature was begging for and I'm quite happy how they turned out.
And then, this was the fun part, around 30 mns trying to get the damn eyes right AND QUITTING because my own eyes were already hurting after such a long time focusing on the tiny eyes.

It was also hilarious how the matt varnish fethed up part of her boots but I have restored them to a decent enough state.

So today my hobby fix will be taking pics and if I'm feeling brave enough to tackle another miniature already, it will be my AoBR Terminator Sergeant. The other 4 are done and waiting for their leader.

I've heard doing the eyes first can really help. I mean like, before anything else, or at least before you touch the face. Hit the entire area with black, then work your way in from the edges/top/bottom with white until they look right. Then paint the face. Just gotta be careful not to mess up the eyes while you're working later. Sometimes it helps me, I usually forget though.

Bit of a mix.

Lower bodies are DE and High elf spearmen, torsos are mainly 2nd ed Ork boyz (the masks fit nicely over them, and it gives them a hunched-forward look that i like. Less upright than the current wrack models, and a bit creepier in my view.

Arms are a bit of a grab bag. The tiny manipulator/claw/syringe arms from the Talos kit made it onto a lot of them.

I've also used ork and ogre arms, slightly modified, and often cut off at the hand to allow for nasty contrivances, and DE/Dark Elf arms.

A couple have tentacles, and one has a pair of Genestealer Rending Claws. I think at least one has a Pink Horror arm in there too.

I'll post pics of them when i get time. I have 40 converted up so far, and 20 grotesques.

None are finished yet, so it's a bit rough and ready, but hopefully i'll find time to give them a bit of polish soon

We got a nice break in the weather today, so I got about half of my swarm box primed (on the sprues).

I still have to prime all the termagant bodies, and everything else.

I also got my 'nids list set up for the 1150 point campaign my FLGS is going to start in a couple weeks or so. It's an escalation campaign, so it should be fun. I was debating for a while if I was going to run Space Wolves, but since it sounds like we're going to keep going up in scale later on, I'd rather just keep building my 'nids right now. 150 point HQ, 1 troop required. 250 points every 2 weeks, cannot change once you're locked in per week, so you can't add on to the squads. If you're below the 250 pts you can save em for the next session.

Picked up my thanquol and my dice pre-order, although I haven't had a chance to open the book up yet.

Also picked up a copy of Altar of War: Compendium, since you can only buy the ebook versions online anymore, and you'd have to buy each army separately if you want to go electronic.

And I got to watch in horror as my fiance nearly sliced into the meat of his thumb...apparently his new IG/tempestus army also demands blood.

Right, first objective of the day has been completed. I have spent some more time attempting to fix the eyes a bit more but I had to stop after a while, my eyes were starting to burn and I'd rather have my own eyes ok than my miniature's Showcase thread in case you are curious about the end result.

Right, that's CIrno done! Today I'll continue with the Terminator Sergeant as I planned, I'm quite happy with the less and less "naked" plastic I have on my table, makes me want to paint more!
