Taking a break from painting Nephilim, and taking a crack and Pandoras box. Starting with the Sorrows and Poltergeist. They're all the same colours which will probably have a few mixed colours, so I'm going to batch paint them.

Well last night I finished building that one infantry battlegroup and made a start on some cavalry.
If possible; tonight I'd like to finish the cavalry unit; maybe a second if I have enough and maybe build a commander or two and then, if I have time maybe assemble a battlegroup of slingers.

I'm probably not going to get all that done tonight, but I would like to get it done soon, so that I can undercoat them all at the weekend and begin the incredibly slow process of painting the buggers!

I'm putting together some of my most recent acquisitions for my Dark Angels army, including the last of my Devastators, a Land Speeder Vengeance/Darkshroud (gonna hopefully put it together so I can switch between the two), two regular Land Speeders, and a Ravenwing Command Squad. I may also do some painting.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

I finished painting up a set of lockups/ storage lots for my Stalker stuff and posted them in my blog thing (plug, plug, plug). Now though. ...Now I'm contemplating how much real life flack I'll have to deal with if I make something else that I see every other day living here in Glasgow. See the lockups are based on the ones from the game DayZ, which is set somewhere in Eastern Europe. They aren't only found there, so they had me thinking about when I was young and used to tote about with my dad and uncles. So ah, hmn, I wonder how much a bawling I'll get off of them if they find out I want to make a pigeon loft?

And so, after 3 months of war... It has come to this. The Rebellions Most Desperate Hour.

This squad of Stormtroopers proved to ultimately be the Rebellions undoing. They were ISB Enforcers, Combat Veterans are were wearing Assault Armour. These guys cause untold devastation, wounded even Gaarkhan in short order, doing the same to Fenn Signis shortly afterwards.

The Rebel heroes did work out how to defeat them eventually, stunning every model and following up with two activations in a row from Fenn to kill them off.

However, they were soon faced with none other than the dreaded General Weiss himself.

Fenn was ultimately killed by a fresh squad of Stormtroopers who arrived just after seeing their brethren gunned down.

Jyn Odan, the smuggler was the first casualty, however... An inglorious end, eaten by a nexu who had been unleashed inside the Imperial base.

Gaarkhan's death came at the hands of none other than General Weiss, who unleashed his full firepower finally ending the wounded wookiee. This left Diala Passal, the exile in hiding as the last Rebel standing.

But even she was not strong enough to contend with the might of the Imperial Army by herself and was ultimately, taken prisoner.

And so, ends the tale of these 4 brave, yet ultimately doomed heroes.

Final Tally:

12 games played
8 Imperial Victories. 2 Draws. 2 Rebel Victories.
3 Hero Personal Quests completed
24 Imperial Influence points gained
48 Rebel XP points gained
13 Imperial XP points gained
1 AT-ST Fielded
1 appearance of Luke Skywalker
4 appearances of Darth Vader
Fenn Signis, KIA, multiple blaster wounds from the 501st Stormtrooper Legion.
Gaarkhan The Wookiee, KIA, brought down by fire from General Weiss.
Jyn Odan, the Smuggler, KIA... Dinner.
Diala Passal, MIA, arrested by Imperial Forces.

Will other heroes stand up now to save the Galaxy? Find out in a few months... Maybe....

Last night my brother, nephew and I played the tutorial mission of Imperial Assault. Pretty great little game. I was holding back as the Imperial player through so I didn't win too quickly - I was rolling really well on defense and had several openings to end it quickly by grabbing the relays.

Finally painting some of the United Colonies of Mankind forces that I have been neglecting for a while. Of special interest is a battlegroup of six Gladius heavy battle tanks and their accompanying Albatross.

Oh. Almost forgot. Going to try and paint up my grey hunters today, possibly some of the long fangs. I'm actually into assembly line painting proper on the Space Wolves army project with most of the heroes done. Still have 20 TDA models and about 40 PA models to go counting the three or four remaining heroes.

For what is worth the FAQs have made it a lot harder to win the tutorial as imperials. The imperials now need to do both terminals to win.

Interesting. I don't think we'll do the tutorial again. It was good as an introductory game, but very small and limited.

This weekend I was bashing out these. I thought about going a level or two brighter on the green, but wanted to go for a darker overall tone. I feel it worked well on the Sorrows, but not so well on the Poltergeist. Live and learn.

I had been in the promise of hastily manufacturing two armored fist squads for IG. Painting to happen!

Sadly, I discovered that I won't have my basic army ready by Tuesday (because I forgot to buy a command squad!).

New-ish (dabbled in 7th edition) and am working very slowly (paycheck-willing) to a mechanised Guard army.
