Mech Guard: It might take a second, but when we show up, we're goddamn THERE.

I'm still trying to find a good Vallejo airbrush colour match to Balor Brown from GW.

The closest I've found is the 'Game Air' Leather brown. - Which, incidentally, is completely different from the Leather brown undercoat spray.

The thing is, 'yellow ochre' is too yellow. Leather Brown looks to have dried too darkly.

Here's my newest Wraithlord-turned-Talos, based on the Little Sister cenobite from Hellraiser. Right arm is the Ichor Injector/Spirit Probe made from a hypodermic needle, and left arm is magnetized for to take a weapon if I want her to be a Talos (or stay bare if I want her to be a Cronos). Added some Chaos trophy spikes to her back. The face was done with guitar wire, although I had to build her 'jaw' and the top of her 'skull' out with GS in order to conceal where the wire came through. Added some knee and knuckle spikes to make her extra Dark Eldar-y.

Painting another 4 Astral Claws for Huron Blackheart's retinue.

Found all my old untouched model parts. Since I proxy my armies now, I'm going to use them all to make as many kitbashes as possible. I'm currently trying to make a prospector Ork with a pet robotic drill.

I finished the webbing, pouches, and greatcoat rolls on the Soviet SMG platoon I'm currently working on for Flames of War.

Discovering that I'm out of about six of the paints which I use most often just as I'm about to start a piece of terrain which will use up a load of them. ¬¬

I went through two pots of black paint on this thing too. Eugh, its like the balsa just sucks up paint.

sat doing back packs for my guard veterans then moveing on to paint some 15mm German StuG G and some StuG G (Late) from Flames of War. might even get on to my Jagdpanthers.

I was painting Baby Kade tonight. Just got to do the gutter and dead Teddy behind him.

Returned from vacation. Stripping a squad hit bad by the humidity, cursing that the same thing happened to two or three packs on the second one.

Stripped all of my hard work with some holographic paint after my oil wash burnt the layers off some how.

Its back to black primed.

Also got my package of Hoards Circle. gona be building those up.

Thats Treacle, she's sadly the sole survivor of three sisters, getting on for 33 months old now and still as bouncy as ever, the other two are missed but Teeny, also known as Tart (I was hungry when I named them) didn't so much eat models as try and drag them under chairs to hide them, Custard had bright red eyes and a cream coloured fur, hated bright lights and was timid as anything but all three were/are amazingly cute.

Wonderful animals, we gave up trying to keep them caged as they would outfox us at every step, Treacle has a cage, but when we are awake the door is open, shes comes and goes as she wants, often found in my better halves dressing gown or paying very close attention at mealtimes.

Has been known to wander into the kitchen when I'm painting, climb up my leg and 'investigate' until bribed with a bit of biscuit...

These three, and the two that came before them (Chocolate and Sponge, hungry is a theme) inspired a smallish Skaven army

Did some more work on my Soviets. Finished up the PPSh stocks on my SMG platoon.

I finished off painting what was left of the run of models I sculpted yesterday and then rifled through my year old "to do pile". Found some Enclave stuff, painted it then spent the next twenty minutes going through the rigmarole of posting my crap up here and in a few other places.

No it doesn't take me twenty minutes to write up one of those thread posts. More like five including the uploading of the images.

Finished all the metallic parts on my SMG platoon. Getting close to finished! Will probably do faces and hands next, then helmets and boots. The plan is to dip these guys as well.

Picked up the Hail Caesar rulebook and a box of Celtic Warriors from Warlord Games. Washed the sprues, waiting for them to dry, and perusing the rules.

Gonna break my dry spell and put together some stuff... Maybe 4 out of 5 Vanguard Veterans with stock chainsword and bolt pistol. I'm going to be using these dudes as normal assault marines and I'm still debating how to arm the sergeant.

Other stuff I might work on this evening also include a couple Gorax light warbeast plastic kits, Maximus minion solo, and Ruin heavy character warjack.

Moving heavy things... Dreading the potentially more difficult task of moving all of my toy soldiers... but on the bright side, they'll be getting a much spacier environment, hell.. they'll even have their own display shelves

Beyond that silver lining, in hobby limbo for now.

Went over to Warhammer World and played Zone Mortalis with friends. I still hate that board but this time I wasn't wiped out.

Discovered the reason that my IG had been dying a little faster than anticipated, is that I had been totally misreading my army list.

I'd been shortchanging myself by three infantry squads and a platoon command squad in every 500 to 1000pt game thus far.

Running Only/Heresy RPG mashup, I'm hoping it's not too surreal for my friends as I've never run it before.

Bought tickets for Council of War 4v4 at Warhammer World for September. Requires you to have a fully painted and based 1000pt army... Great except I'm doing both mine and my friend's...

Later I'll be scanning and launching my fic on Dakka, if I get the courage. Crayons, heresy and hats..

Finished painting Baby Kade today.

Gonna try to get some work done on my Assault Marines I started last night. Drill barrels in the bolt pistols, clean some mold lines or flash, and maybe get some sand on those bases.

That baby is creepy!

I guess I'll try to move at least a couple of hobby things into the new house, I've also got a desk or two to move into the office/hobby room as of yet.

I'm still in colour scheme hell. I've been trying to find a Vallejo equivalent to Balor brown, which I can use in my airbrush (I don't like the thought of me trying using a non dropper bottle paint in my airbrush).

I'm kinda at the point now of just going for, "Which colour do I hate the least for my army?"

Continuing work on my Bloodreavers or w/e they're called from AoS to be Khorne Forsaken (not doing tentacles on Khorne ones, that's more a Tzeentch, Slaanesh, or Nurgle thing). They'll be 'marked' by having more reddish skin. Maybe reading the hardcover Nagash book I found in a store yesterday, still brand new in shrinkwrap for $85.
