Grim Dark Angels Interrogator-Chaplain

A Protoss colony world

Played the tournament I mentioned yesterday in this thread. Got my butt supremely handed to me, enough to actually say I didn't have much fun at all and almost wish I hadn't gone. Not gonna give up, but my Khornekin are not going to any more tournaments until I get some better stuff for them. I could blame bad matchups (I pulled Grey Knights, Ork Swarms, and Daemon Flying Circus as my opponents), but truthfully it was some very poor decision-making on my part; it really just showed how much of a tyro I still am at 40k. Hopefully in a couple of months my (hopefully fully painted) Dark Angels can restore my honor.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 25 | Current main painting project: Kruleboyz Spearhead

Starting on my TIE Interceptor model, and I've also dug out an old toy Slave 1 that I think needs a repaint!

I plan to start building things for September's unofficial painting competition, and to try to knock out something for the current LoER comp before time runs out.

There may be tentacles.

Is that the metal version of that reaper barbarian lady? Also, did you correct her outfit?

Found some more Star Wars minis hidden away in cupboards. A Snowspeeder, TIE Interceptor, A-Wing and B-wing in different scales but good condition, and a Falcon (huge, about 14" from end to end) in need of some care. There was also an X-wing, but that was missing an engine and two guns an excuse to buy the Bandai one!

Yesterday, I sprayed half an army's worth of minis for my Templars, and I've now finished a Land Raider. Getting through this army at a reasonable pace now

It the Bones version, so I had to replace her sword with a plastic one as it was far too flimsy. Aye I sculpted on some extra armour to her chest and hip, added a fur belt plus boots and extended her loin cloth at the back. Once she actually has a semblance of clothing on her she's not a bad model.

Yeah, I like what you've done with her much better than the stock mini. I've got a pair of them for some reason, was trying to figure something out to do with them, maybe I'll have to steal the extra chest armor idea as my space barbarians in skin suits wasn't really panning out.

We need scale shots of those Star Wars vehicles Para, stat

It'll happen... Although I'm not sure how much use it'll be, these ones are all relics from the dawn of time itself* and probably all out of production. Still, if I can figure out the scale with a bit of maths, I guess you could use it to work out the size of the Finemolds/Bandai stuff that's still around.

Should get the Revell Interceptor done tonight.

*ie the original trilogy. I mean, it's not like there was anything before Star Wars, right?

Ahh if they're older kits then it's not as big of a deal, I just thought you had been stockpiling Revell (or similar) kits lately

Assembled 4 Castellax and 1 Thanatar today. Even with a hair dryer, getting those ammo feeds to line up was a pain. Still, cool looking models, and I am surprised at the size difference between them; I figured the Castellax would be slight taller. Built a Krios Venator yesterday. Will spend the rest of the week building my Magos and 15 Thallax.

When I get home I'm getting back to working on my Pendraken 10mm Zulu War stuff.

I got some British and Zulus a couple of days ago, since then I've assembled the British infantry and about half of the Zulus (1 married and 1 unmarried regiment so far, I've got about enough models for another 1 of each) I'm about halfway through cleanup of the Natal Mounted Police so I'll try to finish them tonight.

Still got some cannons, limbers and another feth-load more Zulus to clean and base then I can get to painting.

There is not this idea.

Painting and painting and painting.

I've been reminded why I enjoy painting even though I'm no good at it; I had a panic attack and got through it by sitting down and concentrating really hard on painting.
