What's the average table space the skirmish game is going to be played on? 2x2?
We don't know yet, but hopefully soon we'll be getting a preview of how the game plays.

Okay, because I was thinking that this might be a nice board to play on if it was 2x2:

@Tides, how easy is it to set up the Anytime pledge with add ons? Is there like a tick box feature, or do you just write it out? Complete kickstarter noob that might need direction on how to do this before the time limit runs out!

@Alf, that does look very Predator planet esque, surely there are cheaper options floating about though? What happened to that modular terrain kickstarter? Can't remember what it was called but they were producing a similar idea for a lower amount IIRC.

Put the total sum of cash you plan to spend in the amount box

pick the pledge level you want with the 'tick box'

and after the KS is over you'll be sent some sort of survey or a link to a pledge manager where you 'spend' your extra cash

(remember to make a note of what you're getting somewhere)

The members of the team are marines with a chance to redeem their selves, either thirty to life in the slammer or fifteen missions with a suicide squad. The point man has a special mask by the way, which prevents him from being impregnated. He just goes limp and lets himself get taken to the hive.

Spoiler:
First time round he gets rescued but after doing the same thing for so many missions he becomes a nervous, nightmare ridden wreck. During their final suicide mission, not only does the MAX operator die, but the pointman's mask also gets torn off and he gets a face full of wing-wong.

Of course their are cheaper options I was just talking about boards that are not so cheap once they hit retail with a friend last night and mentioned that I'd rather buy the FW realm of battle boards, and while staring at them, we realized that the Tomb Citadel would make a sweet looking AvP board.

Wing-wong might as well be the canonical slang for getting face-hugged.

That would look really cool as an AVP type board with alien egs on the platforms. We've also reached 145k so I expect there will be an update 0-8 hours from now.

Surely a facehugger would just keep excreting acid until it removed the mask or choked you out with its tail or a warrior would come along and tear it off. The idea of the "Berserker Squad" doesn't really sound like it fits in with the USCM imho.

The acid-excretion business is one of the dumber parts of Alien, which nobody much criticizes anymore because it's such a sacred cow.

Remember, in the comics things are a lot worse than they ever get in the movies. For example, Earth is entirely overrun with xenomorphs.

Medium of Death- Orlando has it right . The check box is your "pledge level" and then you put any add-ons in above that.

So, if you want the minimum level you select the Anytime checkbox, then adjust your pledge for the amount of add-ons you want beyond that (so anything more than the default 10 pounds that that level costs).

I don't think most of the freebies apply to the Anytime level, even if your bring your pledge total above the other levels cost. I asked Prodos about the "free fig at 2000 backers" for pledging 75 pounds or more, and they said this applies to the Anytime level if you pay that much. But most of the other freebies list the names of pledge levels, not total pledge amount, as the criteria for getting them.

Manchu- when you say that, xenomorph pretty much equals Alien, right?

Is that just used to distinguish Aliens from other possible "aliens" that might be out there somewhere?

145K hit, Royal Guard is in!

Now a long slog through 3 board game component goals with just one Aliens goal mixed in.

Then the final 4 goals on the graphic. Anyone want to guess?

Predator- What's left for the predators that hasn't been covered??
USCM- Power loader / exosuit
Alien- Eggs / nest
Alien- Queen

Those are my guesses

Yes, "xenomorph" is standard fan parlance for the star species of the Alien movies. There are several binomials out there but the most current and my particular favorite is Internecivus raptus. In the Predator language, xenomorphs are sometimes called "serpents."

I'm sure it is but it looks nothing like the necron one. The former is more of a pyramid type structure either outdoors or underground in a huge cavern like AVP where as the above is clearly a spaceship or high tech base corridor. They're both cool but I wouldn't consider them any more interchangeable or equivalent.

I think you're right! So that makes my guesses for the final four stretches shown in the graphic:

Predator- Elder Predator
USCM- Power loader / exosuit
Alien- Eggs / nest
Alien- Queen

There's one Aliens goal before that, too, which I'm pencillng in as a chestburster goal.

As for additional Predator stuff; Possibly an Elder Predator, older & meaner with better equipment?

I hope they keep eggs as a potential terrain piece for later or have them come with the facehugger kit.

Still no Synthetics so I think we might get assistant synthetics for the marine squad.

I agree with the human vs human thing. Getting Yutani in the mix with the USCM would be a good "Shadow War" scenario where each faction fights for the destruction/preservation of the xenomorph. Yutani could have better equipment, less of them, perhaps even just have them as synethics in body armour.

Keep in mind that the stretch goal chart isn't absolute (presumably, I would assume they have plans in place for if they exceed whatever funding level they had anticipated), nor is it 1:1 in terms of what we're getting. Remember we had a couple double stretch goals (free facehuggers, free add-on, and a free berserker pred).

I fully expect the chart to get stretched out further and for the Queen to keep getting pushed back until near the end. Prodos just posted on the comments update is coming soon along with more free stuff. Waiting to see how much those Praetorians cost hopefully no more the £15 ideally £10 but the more they cost the more the Queen will cost later! if funds are tight the Praetorians will probably be the first off my list as they aren't in the films and are mostly game created.

My guess is that the queen will be added in no matter what as the last goal regardless of how far we progress on the chart. I'd find it hard to believe that they wouldn't include the massive fund raiser that the queen is in any kickstarter offering.
