Still no warrior renders, and if the praetorian and drone sculpts are anything to go by, well Prodos will certainly get their own section in my upcoming epic, "What could have been".
Little orphans in the snow
With nowhere to call a home
Start their singing, singing
Waiting through the summertime
To thaw your hearts in wintertime
That's why they're singing, singing

May reach $290k & 2000 at this rate. Good day.
We got almost 100 people today. Even if we get that over the next two days, it'll still be 300 people short.
But with 20k a day, the Queen will be in reach.

Still missing out on the 'Giger' (biomechnical) factor, which Prodos seem to have avoided like small pox.

But as noted you get a lot of duplicates and less variety right? And you miss out on freebies too.
RiTides wrote: Oh I agree, I'm just saying it's possible to persevere and get an answer. The fans will attack in any comments section if you press too hard, but I really appreciate finally having an answer on that due to Jake's efforts
Oh I agree too, I just don't think I have the energy for that. It's a completely legitimate question and even more so since they even included that stretch to calculate the savings that are listed - BEFORE the goal was reached. Yes it's a bit morbid that it's about a baby, but Prodos made that stretch I can see how it must've sounded cool to have a bunch of fans cheering for your baby...
Does anyone know if you up your pledge on these can you use the extra money to buy add-ons
For example if I've got the £275 Payback time reward and I bump my pledge to £300 - can I use the £25 extra to purchase more add-ons?
I want to get a few more add-ons but can't work out the best way of doing it - some people seem to have gone for 3 x lower rewards but I can't find that option on there (or do you pledge 3 times????)
You specify what you want after the KS... So if you want 3x pledges you just add the funds and specify which when the survey is sent out... There are a couple of pledge calculators out, but if you just want to see what gives you more value, I think you should have a gander at my pledge comparsion thingy
For the life of me I cannot figure out the chart. I'm in at chopper but according to the chart it's the worse deal at 40%? I was surprised because I get the extra freebies at this level...god I wish I was savy on these types of things...but I'm old..so I'm not.
HANG ON! If we assume we pass all stretches except the 2000 backers stretch - CHOPPER will be valued at £468 while 1x"PIPE"+ 2x"LOOKING GOOD" at the same price will be valued £495.
You will get a bit less choice perhaps, but the total of freebies and other stuff will give you a higher discount.
You can see the results by following the grey column down to the 2000 backers stretchgoal and changing the 10 to a "0" - then you can see what all the pledges will look like in the orange "all stretches discount" and "all stretches total" fields.... I hope that helps
I see now. At this selection 1x"PIPE"+ 2x"LOOKING GOOD" I'd end up with more free huggers at 15.. and going left to right on the chart I'd get 3X free addons.. 3X Berserker models? 3X Free models, 3X royal guard correct? and have 210.00 to spend on addons..did I get this right?

I’m sure glad GW is going to all plastic, so the ever-rising cost of white metal won’t impact the cost of their miniatures.

You miss out on a 15 quid credit freebie but get 20 or so in credit freebies instead, hmm, doesn't sound like a bad deal.
Yup, the boxes have somewhat less stick-together-and-go poseability, but it's a resin compound, so converting isn't all that hard anyway. It's a balancing act, bit of a matter of preference really

It's not too late to convince Prodos they are making a huge mistake on certain things (like the feet, their rules, the exclusivity and prices of the add ons, the contents of the eventual retail box, etc.). After all, "Remember this is a KS with a 6 month lead time. That 6 months will result in the clarity "
So, they have 6 months to finally figure out what they are doing with all of your money...and to try to earn all of my money at the retail stage.
I like the way you guys think. Thanks for taking the time to explain I really appreciate it. Should I switch my choices around now or wait and see what else comes along because I don't see Chopper getting any better really. Do you?

I don't think any option is objectively 'the best'; rather, figure out where your priorities lie and spend there. We can't help you figure out what works best for you unless you have some very specific priorities you could post

Can't tell you what to do, but I personally I am going for a lower pledge for now and depending on what happens after the KS is over, I will probably add another pledge on top for choices.
I am very keen on the warriors, but if I don't see them first I am not going crazy. I am personally in it for making dioramas and I want all the iconic stuff like a Queen and powerloader etc. I have most of the stuff as larger scale figure kits in resin and styrene and vinyl kits, but would love this small scale to go nuts with epic scenes from the movie.

If you're happy with getting that stuff I'd say you're fine at that level. not really a better way to get there, IMO.
Personally, I want extra preds, lots of infant aliens (that's the upright ones, right?) *and* a bunch of extra marines and I'm fine with converting the box versions. getting an extra box is a no-brainer for me.
All you have as addons you could get from a second pledge @ we're in the pipe are the stalker aliens and the huggers. You could get another of the alien warrior units with the free addon but even then you're just getting stuff you potentially don't want cheap, not 'free with extras' as in my case.
...Oh free model gives *one* alien hound, not two. You're at three total, this way around. Just saying

I'm curious about whether that has been instituted by Fox, since the Alien designs have been made very organic in the last 4 or 5 movies in the franchise (A:R to Prometheus).
Lots of aliens in the box set, bunch of preds to go along can never hurt, I'd say.
Look at it this way, 10 infants, 5 stalkers and a praetorian is 65 quid in add-on value already, then there's the 'free model' and 'free unit' choices (so that's warriors for the unit and you're at eighty quid in aliens add-on value already) and all the other stuff is an added bonus.
I'm going for lots of aliens, and I'll be getting two base boxes almost certainly. All it takes is a little more cutting and greenstuffing - I can live with that...

That's probably right, Andilus, since all of this is getting approved by Fox, to the point they're thinning the chest on the excellent PredAlien sculpt.

Give up on the biomechanics, you can guarentee that Fox market research has shown it confuses viewers. "It looks like it's part robot, I thought it was an alien, not a robot. Is it a robot? Where's Will Smith? This movie is confusing, I don't like it."
There’s a difference between having a hobby and being a narcissist.

That's unfortunate... luckily I'm in it for the models, if the game itself is awesome then that's a major bonus. Even if it sucks, I imagine I could have a lot of fun homebrewing a ruleset. In any case though, from what we've heard of the rules it sounds quite fun. The lack of renders/clear communication is certainly unfortunate, but not a major turn off for me. Anyway, too each their own. Check in here when the game releases and we'll let you know how it is and if you should pick it up at retail.
Putting everything down on paper I can really see the value. If I follow your advice and move from Chopper to 1XWe're in the Pipe and 2X Looking Good there boss, I end up getting 1 extra Berserker, 2 extra Royal Guard *270k freebie* and 6 extra Huggers. That's incredible! I can still get everything I want and use the freebie addon to soak up the Alien Warriors box sets at 15.00per. Brilliant!

Couldn't agree more. Geiger can suck it for all I care. I can't say I ever saw some of the aliens in AVP and thought they didn't look like aliens.

They said rules wouldn't be out till the kickstarter was over I'm pretty sure so pulling out cause of that doesn't really make any since to me. Renders and such well those things are not ready yet as the game still has a few months to go before it's released so they're probably still in planning stage and getting approval by FOX.

The rules don't really matter, there are plenty of gaming rulesets out there that could easily be adapted, or I can make up my own.
The models on the other hand, are what attract me to this.
Now, from what I've heard from the open day, the rules are fairly good for a beta product, so I'm not too worried on that score.
I'd like to see more renders of the actual models, but again, I'm impressed by what I've seen so far.

CONCEPT! Model will be supplied on a 80mm Base and will be approx 120mm high. (1 Model supplied)
The Queen will be unlocked when we reach £290000 and can be added to your Pledge for £35
£270k has been passed... Free Praetorian unlocked
Now on to the final push - 37 hours to do £20k and 450 backers...
I've asked Prodos to make more regular updates to their Facebook page as they had a 6 day gap before the last update 17 hours ago - they really need to hit that particular audience and keep them informed (6.000 likes, but only 1,500 backers for the KS...)
