at 10.00 per I can use my addon money for more figures than a single clear pred. I am thinking of using the Space Hulk Blip Markers for cloaked preds. Easy peezy lemon squeezy.

LITKO makes some nice acrylic 'blip' markers that would look good too.

Basement Dweller's idea for stand up clear preds sound very cool too.

I'll assume you mean mine when you mention horrible examples of inked clear stuff (and I am genuinely okay with that), but I honestly think they look pretty good in hand. Better than the pictures show.

I kinda like the Sedition Wars blue ones - like Warboss mentioned, but yeah not a fan of the preds. Sorry dude. I didn't know they were yours by the way

and it's not a comment on your painting ability - just I find the medium (clear figures) awkward at best... To be fair I don't like the Neca figures that use that effect either and I've yet to be impressed by $500 collectible statues that have that effect. Water effects look good. I think it's the glossy finish that takes it away for me. I am sure there are ways to counteract that, but I haven't seen any good tutorial on that. That's partly why I was asking for tips. Thank you for sharing it's appreciated.

It was scrapped and replaced with the 2000 backers reward instead. I think it's in the update after the one you just read.

They have not communicated this very well as people are still adding names, the most recent only 2 hours ago.
This is going to cause a uproar when we end up >2000 backers...
...at which point they may decide to honour the update??

So If RiTides gets 6 people to say they joined because of his promotion here on dakka.
he gets £60 of models. But that is replaced with a gakky £10 add on if we reach 2000...

In fairness it was retracted less than 24 hours later. I think they didn't really think it through though... It did result in lots of people dropping out and repledging with a "buddy" - and some guy was offering to pay for every referral he got. In essence they made it a pyramid scheme of things. Not great.

Prodos have hinted the next goal after predator ship tiles comes from the end of Alien3 so probably Weyland Yutani troops then

On topic: We passed the 500k US$ mark (was at £307k), so we can call it a success (esp as it is a boardgame with components that have to be glued and painted).

The predator and alien packs are still very pricey but the Queen pack is quite cheap. Even if you're getting the Prodos queen, for $7 it's worth it just to pick up the egg sack for a conversion. I use my egg sacks as Tyranid spore pods for my Alien 40k army.

Not only that, but she also comes with one alien and one predator figure and a grided map and I think some tokens.

Oh my, I just bought 10 of them (for the alien/predator figure and tokens), looks like I will have some extra queens for trade.

First time not lurking on Dakka, and just finished reading through all of the pages of this.

I noticed something a few pages back, and don't think I saw anyone mention it. Prodos were answering someone's questions, and one of their answers was:
"Same question, switch out 'aliens' with Predators'. There are none, but the addon preds include cloaked ones"

Is that a mistake/ am I missinterpreting it?

I don't mind paying thirty pounds for three Predators, as they are nice looking sculpts, and I was planing to get the cloaked ones as well as I'm a sucker for clear resin, but if we do get cloaked ones in there then that would free up some money for some other stuff.

I haven't looked through all of the kickstarted coments so I don't know if this has been addressed there allready or not.

Having learned Prodos speak I am pretty sure that means "the only difference is that you can get cloaked preds as addons"

I've gone and switched pledge to real aliens plus in the pipe...

Double pledge I get £235 in extras
If it bleeds plus £20 - I get £220 plus four more face hugs
So it's kinda like trading in 4 face hungers for a berserker and £5..

Although if I'm wrong please tell me!!
