No. They are still going with the rules set that came with the game, and it has a few holes in it.

It is funny. There is an ongoing KS that looked interesting. I asked them who casts their figures and they told me Prodos. I explained I was an AvP pledger and could not support anything that gave Jarek and crew a single cent and the project creator replied he fully understands.

I was glad they answered my question honestly. It would have been easy for them to ignore it or be vague.

While at Origins Game Fair I found out that Prodos has been doing all of Ninja Division resin casts for special release and Relic Knights. I knew Relic Knights was switching to resin but didn't know Prodos was doing the casting.

1. Clear Preds in Production. We are GO! on one of my favourite models. These models created no end of trouble for us as designers but I’m very pleased with how these have worked out. Prototypes of clear Preds have been approved and they are going to mass production as I speak. All going well, any parcels shipped after the 1st July will include these amazing models.
2. We’ve heard your calls for urgent reinforcements to fight back the horrors in the dark and they’re here! Multi pose marines will be dropping from orbit at the same time as the Predators.
3. For you backers out there that were looking to add some atmosphere to your games, the corridors are being sent to external 3D printing company and we’re looking forward to production on these starting on the 15th July.
4. Wargaming Book – As of the 1st of July, Warzone Ressurection, Prodos other licensed game will start an open BETA. This is important to AvP as the core game will share the same mechanics as expected. If you are interested in learning more about these core mechanics please sign up to newsletter at shop.prodosgames.com for more info. Once the BETA is over the book will be sent to print along with the AvP supplement. Just to make it very clear, essentially you’re getting the best of both worlds. You get the core rules for Warzone 2.0 and the supplement for AVP....Both in Hardback with all the facehugging goodness! 5. Lastly, what good would the new marines be, if we had no way of getting them to you. Dropship’s are currently being master cast in 3D print as we speak and we expect to have the master with us 1st week July. Pictures to follow, but for now, here is link to final 3D sculpt.

The dropship ended up being larger than expected, however our designers did amazing work and I believe it has definitely been worth the wait. Due to the cost of production, the Dropship will be limited to 1000 casts ONLY and will come with a certificate. Just to be 100% clear, we are only planning on casting 1000 of these monsters, so if you want one...or two, head over to the store and Pre-order them now! The oher option is to pick one up from us at one of the shows we will be covering (stock dependant).
6. Despite the regular requests, we’ve still got several people who haven’t completed their pledge managers. Next week we will post up a list of postcodes of all backers that have yet to complete their pledge manager (i.e. missing names and surnames and in some cases not completed at all), so can I ask that if you see your postcode, PLEASE log in to pledge manager at : calc.prodos.co.uk and update it. If you can’t get into your pledge manager, please contact service@prodos.co.uk
7. We now have a revised estimated that wave 2 will be completed by August (with part of wave 3 being issued). I understand that we have missed another deadline and I understand that people are still waiting on packages however we have a great team here who are pulling us closer to the finish line every day.

Ok, a lot to take in!

Cloaked preds, multi pose marines & resin terrain - all good news...

Management 'sea-change' (lol - Corp speak for someone got pushed out) - we'll have to wait and see. If it means continued support for licensed product lines then all good....

Drop ship - I think it's great, no doubt many won't. But £150 and 1000 limited run....needs a lot of thinking about. Would've preferred the APC first personally, but still good progress.

Wargame rules - OK really excited about this. I think I even like they are going with an existing rule set that is on it's second version (it proves that playtesting has occurred!). BUT..I don't know Warzone at all. Can anyone knowledgeable post up a review of the rules system please?

Woohoo, guess who can't log into the pledge manager. Wonder if that means they've decided to wipe my order so they have less outstanding orders to fulfill?

Where was that update posted? Not much good them putting up a list of people that need to finalize their pledge manager if they post it in some inaccessible corner of the internet. Especially as some of us are late backers and don't get the KS email.

Warzone is a D20 roll under system, kind of like Infinity but without the floating crits. 1 Is a critical success and 20 is a critical fumble. Only initiative is roll high. Other than that, a lot of the rules will seem similar. Psychic powers, armor checks, things of that nature. I haven't played a game of 2nd Ed. yet, though I plan on trying to run demos of it this summer.

1st Ed. was very crunchy and granular, and like most modern games, they've removed a lot of the excessive, unnecessary rules to make the game phases and play a lot smoother. I had a blast with 1st, and second just seems to reinforce the things I liked about it.

From what I can gather from the FB page, you will need both the WAR2.0 book & the AvP book.
WAR2.0 provides the rules, the AvP book provides the stats & the fluff.

And according to the Prodos KS message, KS backers will get both.

I would have understood using Warzone as a base for AvP, but honestly I am disappointed they are taking the lazy route and making AvP a supplement to Warzone. A standalone book would have been much better.

Not too unhappy about the supplement for AvP to be honest, if it's a good set of core rules then you are getting two games for your (until now mostly unrealised) buck.

I have to admit I was super excited to read this email.

3D corridors, check backed that.
AVP wargaming book, check backed that.
Dropship, check preordered that.

I then I remembered this is Prodos, so I can't believe anything I read from them (unfortunately).

I did recently spend $50 for a Alien Queen's Guard miniature, so they would send me the AVP - The Hunt Begins box and some of the other things I ordered.

My question is: Whatever happened to that big shipment on the way to the US at the beginning of the year? It arrived at it's destination, but then we heard squat about it.

I don't think that ever happened, at least not the way Prodos claimed it did. The vast majority of US backers getting stuff that I heard of (including the stuff I have gotten) came directly from Poland. I think Prodos sent some to their initial distributor but not enough to fulfill the KS. The second shipment to the unnamed company I don't think ever existed. I think it was a stall tactic, or was just retail stuff. If it did exist and was KS stuff, that is where what I got would have come from because it was in the time frame after that shipment allegedly arrived.
