Yup, bite at the end of the activation and then the pass/hand off/TD happens.

I had to read the rule a few times, but I'm pretty sure you can only bite a thrall at the end of your action, not at the beginning of the action. So if you want to score, pass, or handoff with a vampire that fails its bloodlust test, you need to have a thrall adjacent to the vampire at the end of that vampire's action (ex. a thrall next to the end zone square that the vampire would score in).

Are you sure? It says that if a player who fails their Bloodlust test is trying to do a Pass, Hand-off, or Score, they must bite a Thrall before they perform the action or score. That happens before the end of their activation, and happens immediately after the Bloodlust test, but before they perform the action.

I've reread it a few times and don't see how you can bite a thrall "before" your activation (i.e. before moving) under the wording of the rule. The last sentence with "before" in it only applies to passing, handoffs, and scoring actions, all of which normally end your activation when performed. But what if you have Running Pass skill which allows you to keep moving after a quick pass? Then I think you could quick pass and then move to bite a thrall.

Saying before your activation was a bit off on my part, mainly meant that it happens before the end of your activation due to that wording.

If you go to pass, you can move, bite, and make the pass/hand-off.

Since you HAVE to bite before you complete the pass action, it cannot be at the end of your activation.

Ben from the Bonehead Podcast is coming to the same conclusion on that since I just watched his review video to see if I was off on that.

edit. I do believe I was wrong on the bit about biting before you score though. Looks like you will still need somebody in biting range at the end of your activation to actually count it as a touchdown.

If you go to pass, you can move, bite, and make the pass/hand-off.

You move, you pass (and succeed), activation ends. You now have two options:

a) Bite a thrall and carry out the successful pass
b) Don't bite and turnover happens, no pass happens

The rule clearly states you need to bite before attempting to pass.

The confusion comes from the fact that biting happens at the end of the activation.

So you test to pass -> bite -> actually pass.

Or

Run into the end zone -> bite -> actually score.

He's a coach, not a player.
Although many of the other "coaches" are also star players.

ETA, playing BB3 some and that guy is also available as a star player in-game. No telling when he'll show up on the TT though. Gobbler Grimlich did have rules for BB2016 so probably eventually.

Refs and Cheerleaders return, including previously WHW and Event Exclusive Gobbo and Halfing Refs.

Oh, and the mutated Minotaur, another previously WHW and Event Exclusive.

However, limited order window of 23 Dec to 2 Jan.

They were event exclusive? I’m pretty sure I just ordered them online - I’ve not been to any events or WHW in years.

Anyway, good to see the cheerleaders back but aren’t we missing a set? The “good” elves had some too, I’m sure.

Edit: ALSO: the FAQ/Errata is out, linked from that article. Nothing too shocking as far as I can tell, except confirmation that Bloodlust is still a significant penalty.

Pretty cool cheerleaders. Anyone know what they'll be made of? Resin, plastic or metal?

Also it mentions the other Elves 'Eaglettes" might be available in the future.

They were always Forge World resin.

I don’t see where it mentioned the elf cheer team?

Refs and Minotaur were exclusives

I see it now. For some reason I thought that was just going to say they were delayed in Australia or something.

That’s who I meant; I have both sets and haven’t been near an event since Games Day stopped being called Games Day.

The Minotaur yes, the referees not (unless you meant exclusively online).

Edit: Um... maybe the Minotaur too was available in the shop for a short time...

The MTO window is Dec 23? Why are they announcing it so early?

Weird.

I know I got my Refs from WHW. Maybe they were a splash release then WHW only.

Speaking of WHW, it’s been waaaay too long since I visited. Maybe next year for the Store Anniversary. Got a mate who’s never ever been, so will drag him along so I’ve someone to annoy on the drive up.

Guessing they don’t want to clutter up the major Christmas releases?

Whatever reason it's nice for those of us who like notice to plan purchases. Especially at a time like Christmas where every dollar counts

Sometimes they show those pre-previews waaaaaaay before the actual mini is released.

The article I linked above has a picture of the upcoming MTO for cheerleaders & refs that also shows some random mutated minotaur that I've never seen before.
