I'd argue Mechanicum would have been a more exciting second faction in both HH and LI. But I guess we need a human baseline for Astartes to stand out against

Mechanicum has a chunk of stuff that existing plastic kits can represent such as Magi, Knights, Tech-Thralls, Skitarii, Servitors, and the like. Solar Aux has the Leman Russ.
Getting Solar Aux moved to plastic also means GW can remove some of the oldest remaining FW kits, the Malcadors.

Plastic Medusa, hey?

That's interesting...

The Solar Aux basilisk and Medusa are just a barrel swap. Makes sense to do both.

Does the Medusa have indirect fire in HH yet?

Yah. But not much beyond that. Ordnance 1, barrage, large blast (5), Pinning, Rending (6+),with a 36" range and S9, AP4, to be clear.

If they release the Malcador Infernus in plastic then my modeling/painting plans for this year and well and truly screwed.

Am I correct in assuming this means plastic Mechanicum in August?

Cause that would be awesome sauce.

you'll notice that chart says 2022?

the army book "liber mechanicum" was released in august of 2022

You’ll notice you’re replying to a post on the first page of a 224 page thread, that started in 2022?

ROASTY TOASTY! Did you know, that whilst there’s no evidence for it, it’s a scientific fact that shouting that when firing a Malcador Infenus improves the unsaved wound count by up to a Bit Percent?

It’s true!

Anyways. Not long until this week’s Heresy Thursday, which provided nothing changed behind the scenes is most likely the Assault Weapons upgrade pack. Which will be cool.

These are weapon upgrades, just not exactly what we expected:

I like them. Very random order they’re doing these upgrades in though, Sons of Horus then Blood Angels.

The spear's pretty cool.

Weird that they didn't show off the Predator parts on the actual tank.

It’s a bad habit of these posts.

Heads, weapons, often shown without “serving suggestion” images of the completed models.

Probably don't wanna paint up a whole BA tank to shoow off a resin blister pack.

They’re not cheap, but I’m a sucker for this type of thing. Hope they’ll do white scars and word bearers without making me wait two years

Plastic melee sprue still coming same quarter as Auxilia. This is just a throwaway Heresy Thursday slot a few hours before LVO reveals...

Hmmmm. That spear. I do quite like it.

Those arms however... It's painful how generic they start to look when you see them everywhere.

Heresy Marines are, for the rank and file, much less decorated that their future counterparts. Ornamentation tends to come in for elite units and characters, and even then in differing amounts.

No, I'm aware of that. I mean they're generic in that they don't cleave to any of the established armour themes. You don't look at the those arms and go "Yes, they're 'X' Mk".

GW should consider these upgrade kit releases for their own 3D printing service. Even release their own official 3D printer and materials...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

I must have these! Those bolters alone make this kit indispensable for me, especially a fan of the bolter which is not held at the grip.

The axe looks pretty good as well, and might even fit that Plastic two-handed melee weapon Praetor that came with the AoD box (still have mine on the sprue)

I have always been partial to the way the Flamestorm Cannon looks on a Deimos Predator, that to me, is the quintessential Baal Predator look, but I suppose this resin upgrade will be nice to have for others

Beats having clearly mk6 arms on mk2 body though

Hopefully the reference to the EC armoury is a not so subtle "EC set coming soon", because I am really keen to see what they'd do for the Third. Would be a nice addition to the existing spear set.

Why 1 Assault cannon, hows that helpful. Do they expect people to buy 10 of these upgrade packs to equip a squad?

That spear is gorgeous, I'll need one of those.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.
