The Blood Hammers chapter is a relatively new chapter from the 22nd founding. Though it is not certain, it is believed that the Blood Hammers chapter are descendants of the Salamanders Chapter. Not long after their creation, the forces of Chaos would try to tempt these newly created Loyalist to denounce the Emperor and fight against the Imperium. Out of the Chaos forces, Khorne was the most tempting with promises of glory in battle and the spilling of blood for him. The Blood Hammers resisted this temptation, but at a price. It seemed that the geneseed developed a flaw. During battle many of the Blood Hammers would be driven into a crazed frenzy killing all that stood in their way. These actions have nearly had the chapter declared renegade due to the incredible amount of Imperial soldiers killed when fighting along side the Blood Hammers. It seemed certain that the Blood Hammers were now servants of the Blood God in the eyes of the Inquisition until Reclusiarch Demeter found the answer. He found through some psycho-conditioning that the Marines could control the blood rage enough to distinguish friend from foe. This was tested when the entire 3rd company was sent to help secure the world of Aeson against the Tau expansion. The Blood Hammers were deployed on the flanks of a massive Penal Legion. Many members of the Inquisition were spectating the battle to see if the Blood Hammers would kill the Penal Legion in their blood lust. To the surprise of the Inquisition, not a single Penal Legionnaire was killed by the Marines. Not only did this battle secure the Blood Hammers place in the Imperium, but it be the start to a long list of glorious victories.
Notable Engagements:
Assault on Aeson: The first major engagement for the chapter. The entire 3rd company was deployed to help the Penal Legion break through the Tau defenses. During this battle, the Marines achieved an impressive 35-1 kill ratio. This victory secured the Blood Hammers place in the Imperium.
Third War of Armageddon: The Blood Hammers deployed the entire scout company to perform raids on ork positions.
Current Campaign---- Defense of the Aegle System
The Aegle System is large agri-system that provides food for other neigboring systems. The orks have began an invasion on the system. The 4th company has been taking heavy casualties from the massive WAAAAAGH! Chapter Master Cerberus has assigned Captain Charon of the 3rd company to rescue the remains of the 4th company.

Why I Started This Army
I have been fascinated with Space Marines since I have know about the 40k universe. My 2 favorite chapters being the Salamanders and the Blood Angels, I wanted to create a chapter that was a mix of both.
The theme is hammers. My squads do not use power fists, but instead use hammers (counts as power fist).

This army is a WIP. All that is left to paint on Salamanders list are the Vindicators and the Speeders. I will then focus on painting the Blood Angels list!
