Codex Supplement: Deathwatch
Deathwatch by biggy_phatts
Deathwatch by biggy_phatts

Deathwatch have been relatively shafted when it comes to any kind of rules. I'm new and have no idea if this has already been done, So ladies and gentlemen, I present to you...

Codex:Deathwatch, a Supplement to Codex: Adeptus Astartes (Space Marines, Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Grey Knights, Space Wolves, Sentinels of Terra and any other Imperial Armour books containing the rules for a Space Marine chapter.)

The Deathwatch are a part of the Ordo Xenos which are made up of Space Marines from all different Chapters. Only the most intolerant of Space Marines are allowed in and they believe that all Xenos should be killed on sight. Most first founding chapters nominate several battle brothers to enter the Deathwatch and a 10 man squad contains Astartes from 10 different Chapters. There are a few rare Astartes from successors such as Crimson Fists, Blood Ravens, Praetors of Orpheus and Angels of Absolution. In the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium, the Deathwatch are a necessity and some Astartes have been offered a position in the Deathwatch but turned it down. Torias Telion, Astaroth the Grim, Master Azrael and other prominent Space Marines including Marneus Calgar himself have been offered places. These elite Marines are only taken from the 1st Veteran companies of a chapter or the High Command of the chapter.

Icon of the Deathwatch:

This ancient honour badge actually incorporates a small range energy field which repels some more extreme fire. The marine will retain this badge upon return to their parent Chapter The Icon confers a 5+ invulnerable save to all Deathwatch. Any Space Marines that are NOT in the Deathwatch but have the Icon

Chapter Symbol:

A Deathwatch must retain his Chapter Symbol when inducted into the Xenos-hunting ranks to appease the machine sprit of his Power Armour, if a HQ from the same chapter is in an allied detachment, he becomes inspired and fights ever harder to prove himself not only to the Ordo Xenos, but his old Chapter.

All Deathwatch in your squad must contain different Chapter Symbols. Any HQ or Lord of War from Codex: Space Marines 7E that is from the same Chapter as a Deathwatch unit has their Squad use the HQ or LoW's Chapter Tactics (If there is more than one Chapter, nominate ONE).

Chapters that do not have Chapter Tactics (any that have their own codex I.E Grey Knights) use the Deathwatch Chapter Tactics.

Chapter Tactics: Deathwatch

The Deathwatch are trained assassins of Xenos scum, and they will pursue the enemies of The Emperor with reckless abandon. When charging against any enemies detailed in the Preferred Enemy (Xenos) special rule, add D3 extra inches Charge Range.

Deathwatch Dedicated Transports

A Killteam cannot spend all it's time on foot, they must have a transport to get them to the target quicker. For this, they have their own dedicated transports independent of other chapters A Deathwatch Killteam may take a Rhino, Drop Pod, Razorback or Stormraven Gunship As a dedicated transport.
