The darkest day in recent Dark Angel history was when 3 full companies of Dark Angels and the entire Deathwing company escaped with their lives after making a Planetstrike on Pacifius Prime in the Mortem Cluster when they recieved a tip from the surviving inhabitants there that a Chaos Dark Angel Space Marine by the name of Brother Aviv lead the heretical force of the planet. After the Resistance guard evacuated the Dark Angels, small squads of Space Marines found each other and many of them set up small corps, but an even worse battle would go on while the Dark Angels were helping the resistance fight against the heretical armies. A vital Infiltration unit of Dark Angels who supplied information had been betrayed by one of their own and have information that could turn the tide of the war. So during the Invasion of Infernum Terra where almost half a dozen of Infantry Regiments aided the Resistance and the Dark Angels and Howling Griffons who just landed in 6 months ago. This landing was one of the biggest aquatic raids in the Imperiums history and thousands were killed in the 3 areas of the blasted island and most troopers were in disarray. Through this madness, a small force of Dark Angels landed on the Western beach and battled through the roughest beach-head in the entire landing. This is where the tactical squad assigned the mission met up with some disarrayed guardsmen that rallied to them and pushed forward. All the while, Belial and his Deathwing had rallied to their cause almost a hundred Dark Angels, the survivors of the landings. When the Tactical squad met up with the force under Belial, they immediately were sent to protect the Tactical Squad. When the Dark Angels reached the city, they split up, but the Tactical squad was in for some help when some of the Deathwing split up to find them. After 8 days searching through the blasted city of Japokin, the Dark Angel small strike squad found the tattered squad they were sent to find, battling against a whole company of Heretics. They quickly dispatched the Heretics and got the squad out of the legions hands but were stopped by one thing; Aviv was guarding their way, duelling one on one with Belial, a dozen Deathwing dead around them and Belial was losing. But then the leader of the group saw the fatal blow in advance and sacrificed himself for Belial, distracting Aviv long enough for the wounded Deathwing captain to mortally wound the fallen brother. When the Dark Angels left, the dying commander and the captain who was already dying from fighting off a Chaos Obliterator guarding Aviv were to be made as Dreadnoughts. But when they went to get Aviv they found him escaping by a rogue Valkyrie and some of his best with him.
After the war had finished and the Dark Angels were leaving alongside the other 2 chapters of Dark Angels, the small group of Dark Angels were christened a successor Chapter by none other than the secretive Brother Azrael; Grand Master of the Dark Angels. The small force left of only a few Marines and their guides were joined by the Deathwing who served beside them and the newly formed Dreadnoughts Quentin's Wrath and Venerable Dreadnought brother Wingard and were to be stationed along with the resistance to recruit for them and to watch over this planet lest the Fallen come over Pacifius Prime again... Now they are in deployment, a whole platoon of resistance guard beside them on Machi as they have heard reports and rumours of the Fallen controlling a gang of criminals in the underbelly of the hive planet.
The name of the small Strike Force is called the Tenebris Ultores and still abide by the law of their unit; to be a light raider force and the only the dreadnoughts of the 2 past commanders being the only larger machines in the entire force. The Grand Master of the Tenebris Ultores is Belials most trusted and one of the last Deathwing captains who survived in the war; Captain Gladio Dominus and he is also the leader of the Deathwing attached to the Chapter and acts as the director of all the Tactical and Deathwing troops. Through this, a shady man leading the Infiltration exhibition on Infernum was supposed to be dead, being one of the Dark Angels that were killed when the group was exposed. But recently he appeared, battered and broken but defiant. He was dressed to and now is the only Librarian in the force and is the only chaplain as well but is not trusted by any means by his comrades and also acts as the advisor and overseer of the heavy troops. The final man used to be the sergeant of the Tactical Squad but when he was in the city, he found a jetpack and with it fought off single-handedly a whole army of Raptors and now is the director of the Assault force, being an inspiring man on the battlefield. Woe to the Heretic that crosses path of the chapter.
But an even darker secret is out about this chapter. They are hunting Brother Aviv and some of his guard that escaped with him, for they hold a relic of the Dark Angels, the Sword of the Stone Brother, an artefact stolen from the Rock around 200.M40 by an escapen Fallen by the name of Brother Kahn who had been reported to be with Aviv...

Why I Started This Army
When I brought the Assault on Black Reach, I saw the Ultramarines and thought boring... I didn't want an army that was static and perfect, I wanted an army I could relate to; one that was easy to play and learn the basics but had some sort of connection to the first wargame I played; WHFB. When I was in the store next, I saw to my amazement on the tabletop the Dark Angels and thought YES! The entire force is mainly made up of Dark Angels Company Veterans pack, Assault on Black Reach and my friend was getting out of the hobby so gave me a Dreadnought and a couple of Termies and through 3 years of work this army is the result.
