Emperor's Children - Codex 5th Edition

Introduction


An Emperor's Children army can field a respectable assault force or an excellent mid-range shooting force. Emperor's Children got a section in the 4th edition codex but now the force is subsumed under the 5th codex. The aim is to bring EC back to life with mild changes to the actual codex.



Daemon Prince

Stats as in the codex: CSM - 110 points.

  • Unit type:

  • Options:

      • lash of submission for +20 points,

Chaos Lord

Chaos Slaanesh Dreadnought

Stats as in the codex: CSM - 90 points.

    • Two Dreadnought cc weapons with integrated sonic blasters
    • Doom siren
    • Drugs: Roll D6 at the beginning of the Dreadnought's movement phase:
      • outcome 2-5: behave normal,
      • outcome 1: shoot twice the nearest unit (friend or foe),
      • outcome 6: cannot shoot, but fleet on foot.
  • Special rules:
    • Mark of Slaanesh (+1 initiative).
  • Options:
    • One Dreadnought cc weapon can be replaced as follows:
      • Twin-linked blastmaster for + 10 points,
      • twin-linked autocannon for +10 points,
      • twin-linked lascannon for +30 points,

    • Get sonic blaster sponsons for +10 points.
    • A Predator can get a warp amp for +5 points.

Chaos Slaanesh Land Raider

Stats and options as in the codex: CSM - 220 points.

    • A Land Raider can get a warp amp for +5 points.

Armoury

A blastmaster can be shot one of two modes:

    • S 8, AP 3, range 36’’, small blast, heavy 1,
    • S 5, AP 4, range 24’’, assault 2, pinning.
  • Warp amp

A warp amp reduces the leadership of enemy units with 12’’ of the tank or walker onto which it is mounted (measured from the hull) by -1. Effects of warp amps are cumulative.
