Expanding with Warwitch Deneghra

After Starting with the Cryx Battlebox and purchasing the items from The Cryx Toolbox, you might find yourself wanting to expand your army using Warwitch Deneghra, the warcaster who came with the battlebox.

What to Order

A Helljack with Reach

Nightmare

  • PIP 34056

Nightmare gains the Stealth Ability with Deneghra due to its Affinity Ability with her. When her debuffs land, Nightmare can get to it, especially if that target was its Prey.

Nightmare is a great assasination peice. With stealth he will usually make it to the target with little to no damage. Reach is an excellent ability extending his threat range. Prey works well to put on his assasination target, but it can also be placed on a unit that will be close to the front lines or cloase to the caster in order to use it to 'slingshot' Nightmare to the caster. Ghostly allows him to ignore terrain so he can sharge past obstacles or rough terrain. It also allows him to use terrain for cover as he approaches then charge thru it.

Nightmare is a little focus hungry when it comes time to attack, but he makes good use of it as an alternate assasination vector when Denny cannot get the job done herself.

Ranged Control

Pistol Wraith

The Pistol Wraith adds an incorporeal model to Deneghra's army, and a well placed model can lockdown targets during Deneghra's feat turn with its Death Chill attacks.

The above list is a hodge-podge of different elements that can work together at 35 points.

The Warwitch power boosts a key arc node. and the Mechanithralls and Bane Thralls provide a melee beatdown. On the feat turn, with Prey and Dark Shroud, a fueled up Nightmare can combo strike for large amounts of damage.
