Gargork, Destroyer of Worlds

Mega Gargants are the largest class of Ork Gargants, colossal Titan-class machines of war that the Ork race considers effigies to their Gods Gork and Mork. Dwarfing even Great Gargants, Mega Gargants rival the size of an Imperial Imperator Titan, bristling with enormous guns, missiles, and other types of outlandish weapons of mass destruction. By Ork standards, Mega Gargants are extremely complicated machines that only the most brilliant Mekboy can engineer, and are among the most devastating Ork weapons, deployed only for the largest Waaagh!'s. Though they can be equipped with advanced equipment like Gaze of Mork, Skullkrusha Mega-Cannon, Kustom Force Fields and Lifta-Droppas, just like most Ork technology the Mega Gargant is extremely crude and lacks the scientific sophistication of human or Eldar Titans.

Gargork, Destroyer of Worlds

While all Gargants are a rare sight on the battlefield, Mega Gargants are so rare that some believe that they don’t exist at all. Gargork is not only one such Mega Gargant, He is the Mega Gargant of legend.

Although little to nothing is known about the internal mechanical workings of Gargork, Orks swear that He is alive, sentient and doesn’t even require the Krew that mans Him. Legend has it that Gargork was originally built by Gork himself to be his very own chariot to ride into battle. To the Orks that follow Him, Gargork is more than a machine, more than just an idol, He is Gork incarnate. Orks that have had the honour to have actually seen this colossal machine with their own eyes and been witness to its terrible wrath, reverently refer to Gargork simply as “Him”.

An ancient Mega-Gargant, He is probably the oldest and largest one ever built. Gargork proudly displays the Bannerz and colours of the Evil Sunz clan but has been rumored to have appeared out of the smoke and mist, just in time to tip the scales of a battle and deliver victory to a beleaguered Warlord, teetering on the brink of defeat. Whether the Warlord in need be Evil Sunz or not is of no consequence to Gargork, for it is His destiny to crush the enemies of all Orkdom.

Even though Gargork is older than some civilizations, He has been lovingly and meticulously maintained by only the most skilled and dedicated Mekboyz over the millennia. Some of these honoured Mekboyz have lived long and productive lives without ever stepping foot off of Gargork. He is so big, it is said that even keeping Him painted is an eternal, never-ending job. Applying the Red paint from top to bottom, when the grot paint krew is finished painting the hull at the bottom, it is time to start again at the top of the towers.

Since Ork legends are not written down but passed down verbally, some of the stories about Gargork may have been slightly embellished over the centuries. Many feats of legend surround Gargork, some so implausible that It is thought by many who have not actually been in His presence, that this ancient Mega-Gargant is itself, a myth. Around Ork campfires swirl tales of Gargorks Might. Entire Waaaghs have been waged simply to get bigger or better guns for Gargork. It is said that Gargorks arm Kannon was once a planetary defense gun on some long-defeated forge world and that His field generator once protected an entire Hive city. Perhaps the most unbelievable legend states that Gork, himself, took a small yellow sun between his massive hands and squeezed it, compressed its energy so that it could be harnessed and placed into Gargorks massive nuclear furnace.

Although Gargork has outlived hundreds or maybe thousands of the Kommanders who have proudly stood in His command center since His creation, Commanding Gargork is something that most Ork Warlords have only dreamt of doing. It is said that a very young and ambitious Mekboy named Wazdakka Gutsmek, may have led a mob of warbikes on some of the countless assaults launched out of Gargorks vast belly.

Like most deities in the galaxy, the great majority of mortal beings don’t even know His true name. But even among the honoured few throughout the galaxy that do know Him, Gargork, still has numerous titles; Gargork the Terrible, Gargork Son of Gork, Gargork the Bone Grinda and perhaps most fitting, Gargork, Destroyer of Worlds.
