The Highborn Covenant represents Llaelese efforts to liberate their country from the grips of Khador. The Mercenaries included in this contract are based on Mercenary models who can fight for Cygnar, the Protectorate, and other Mercenaries who have ties to Llael. The country itself was the home of some of the developments in blasting powder, and so the army includes many elements with firearms.
One way to start with the Highborn Covenant is to buy the equivalent of a battlebox. However, you will have to order the models separately.
What to Order
Ashlynn d'Elyse
Ashlynn is the most obvious 'caster for the Highborn covenant due to her Llaelese background. An army fielding her will do everything in its power to keep her alive as she dances around the battlefield, biding her time until she can unleash her Roulette feat and roll the dice using abilities that rely on critical effects.
Mule
The Mule gets some kick from Ashlynn's feat, as Roulette vastly increases the chances of scoring a critical effect with its gun and knocking enemy models all over the place. The Mule does not have a monkey or funny hat as pictured above.
Nomad
===
The Nomad is a solid heavy warjack that has a low points cost. It has a strong weapon that has a 2" Reach, and provides a solid basis for any mercenary warcaster you choose to expand to.
Vanguard
Key to keeping Ashlynn alive is the hefty light warjack, the Vanguard. Roulette increases its accuracy, but really the 'jack is there to provide Ashlynn with a shield guard to nullify the effects of a single ranged attack each turn.
