Supporting Cygnar Warjacks

Build on your Warjack Support by including these specialized models to enhance the performance of your warjacks. You can either use them to tune your forces towards using more warjacks, or you can use them as a basis for building a warjack specific type of force.

A 'Jack Caster

Captain E. Dominic Darius and his halfjacks can repair nearly wrecked heavy warjacks and bring them up to full capacity. His Full Throttle spell heavily enhances warjacks' melee capabilities, and his crane helps position them around on the battlefield.

Durability would be his middle name if it weren't "Dominic". What he does is cast Fortify on some crazy well armored warjack (see: Centurion), surround it with other heavy warjacks and watch the opposing 'caster weep as they figure out how they're going to take down a highly ARM'ed model that you can't charge.

In addition, Darius himself has knockdown based abilities, as well as "pick-me-up" in the form of his crane/backpack. Simply walk up and suddenly you've re-positioned a warjack without activating it.

Full Throttle benefits melee-centric warjacks the most, if you build up his forces enough you'll be able to use his theme force that allows for discounted heavy warjacks and free sword knight unit attachments.

The Centurion's heavy armor and shield are just part of its defensive capabilities. Turn on its Polarity Field and deny enemy models from charging it. Then turn its piston spear against them and rip models to shreds with reach and its Critical: Sustained Attack.

With Commander Coleman Stryker and Captain Victoria Haley, the Centurion is looking at ARM 24 from Arcane Shield. Even if he lets his Polarity Field drop to attack, by the time he does it it's probably going to be too late.

And even though your go-to weapon should be the piston spear, don't forget that the Centurion is also armed with a shield for whacking enemy models.

Playing with Centurions will eventually make you want to use Commander Adept Nemo or one of the warcasters that can make your warjacks move even faster. But that's an article for another day.

Specialty Mechanic

Repair damaged warjacks, or run warjacks with Arlen as a 'Jack Marshal to save your warcaster some focus. Then use his Power Booster or Evasive abilities to further enhance warjacks left under his care.

Captain Strangewayes's ARM and abilities make him fairly durable while hiding behind various warjacks. It should take some effort for your opponent to remove him from the table. In the meantime, you should be looking for opportunities to use his abilities to get the most out of your warjacks.

Infantry Mechanics

  • Mechanik and Gobber Bodgers Unit aka Field Mechaniks
  • PIP31002 and 2 Blisters of PIP31003

The Field Mechanik Officer can repair and marshal warjacks. His assistant Gobber Bodgers can help him with those repairs or attempt to do them themsevles. Keep those warjacks in fighting shape!

Sword Knights train to fight alongside warjacks and are armed with nothing fancier than a sword. Include the unit attachment to gain a specialized 'jack marshal and attack.

These models are not Stormblades. They simply don't have the ARM or fighting capacity to lead the charge. Keep them behind as a second wave and look for opportunities to trigger their Flank Bonus from friendly Reach warjacks.

Go after the warjacks that your own warjacks have already battered but not quite finished. Then with the unit attachment, charge that warjack and hit them with the Precision Strikes to damage the important systems: Cortex, Main Weapon System, Movement.
