Hi everyone on DAKKA DAKKA. I have just returned to painting miniatures after a 2 year break and am starting to get back into the modelling world with a vengeance. When I first got into war gaming it was with The Lord of the Rings models. I spent around two years painting and modelling them but for some reason never got into the gaming side as much, only having played maybe 2-3 times. Now I have started fresh with WARHAMMER 40K and decided to start off with Imperial Guard figures. I started painting and re-searching the Imperial forces around two months ago and have 20 miniatures painted. My plan is to build up a Company of soldiers modelled on an Irish Defence Forces Company. In this I will have a Platoon which will consist of the following rank structure:

X18 PRIVATES (7) X3 CORPORAL (6) X3 SERGEANT (5) X1 COMMISSAR (4) X1 LIEUTENANT (3) X1 CAPTAIN (2) X1 MEDIC (8) X1 STANDARD BEARER (1)

In the Platoon will be 3 Sections consisting of the following:

SECTION: 5 RIFLEMEN, 1 RADIO MAN, 1 CORPORAL, 1 SERGEANT & 1 LIEUTENANT

My aim is to repeat the Company 4 times, painting the models in 3 different colour schemes depending on the environment in which the will be fighting in.

IE: Ice World, Woodland, Desert, Urban.
