Action shot! I can't keep track of the 10th stuff right now but he looks excellent. Even if he is committing vandalism.

Excellent animation to the vignette you set, good luck rescaling the figure for the new rules set.

To each his own, but it was the many changes to the rules to enhance sales that got me actively building 'Not Warhammer' Warhammer alternates. I hate to tell the kids "get off my lawn" but I started playing as Rogue Trader was transitioning to full-on Warhammer 40k. Back when we were making land speeders out of deodorant stick containers. A Rhino (which any Imperial faction could use, not just Space Marines) was 250 points, when most games were being played for 500 or less. The incentive was to buy the infantry models that the company was actually putting out. Then the Rhino model kit came out, and suddenly Rhinos were only 25 points to play in a game and a lot weaker than they had been before.

The point for me is moot really, as there is no place convenient to game. I'd like to get back into that side of things though, and admire you'ns that keep up with these things.

Rock on!

Gotta agree with the others, the Captain smashing through the wall is cool! Have you considered a tactical rock to stand him on instead of giving him some more growth hormones? You could build the floor inside the building and steps going down outside to really add to the vignette

Thanks all! I think a tactical rock will help, but I'm gonna be doing some slice-and-dice regardless.

The second unit I built which 10th Broke was also, almost, a complete hit. I built me a Bike Captain out of an Outrider using a jet-bike conversion kit:

I was scared when I learned Characters were mostly going to be attached, because I don't have traditional Bike Squads, only Outriders. But then I got lucky and Bike Captains go in Outrider squads!

...and then I saw that, even though the index card has the stats for a thunder hammer on it, technically Bike Captains don't have the option to take one. So for now that hammer is gonna be run as other weapons. So close!

Both models look fantastic so far, even if they are not 10th-friendly.

I had the two Praetors from the Horus Heresy box cut up and ready to convert into a Company Ancient and a Techmarine. When 10th was getting close, I decided to just leave them on the desk and focus on my Tau army for 10th. I've only played one game so far, but I liked it. I'll look at all the Space Marine stuff eventually, but for now they are mostly on the shelf.

Good luck with the new rules/codexes.

Took my Necrons into a crusade battle against the Grey Knights. Very little died, but it was a mission with disappearing objectives and the ones which disappeared kept being mine! Still was closer at the end than I thought it would be.

Olynder in the centre was a mysterious anomaly the GK had accidentally awakened in their previous battle and which was hostile to both of us. It ended up mostly going after me until I captured it - an excuse to use Olynder as a Transcendental C’tan in my next battle!

Another Age of Sigmar battle. The map ended up fairly dense which made for some very interesting choke points.

The key photo is definitely this one, of my shield wall closing off a mountain pass defending an objective.

Love the line of Sigmarines closing off the pass! looks like you’ve had a fun couple of battles. The jet bike kit is awesome, but he’s cutting the corner a bit around that pillar!

If I could figure out how to model sparks flying I would (I saw once someone do something fun with a clear sheet of plastic to show sparks being kicked up by a biker dragging his chainsword against the ground, but I can't find it now to link it). Alternatively if I had some more rubble I could have falling to show that his scraping the pillar is breaking it...

I'm kinda bumping around projects a little right now. My sister sent me this adorable mini to paint, and I've had a lot of fun learning how to paint fur effects on a smooth surface for it.

Just gotta do the OSL from the magic glowy mushroom and I think it's done.

Cool little rodent Gwyn. I think you’ve certainly captured the fur texture well, especially on its face. Good luck with the OSL

Well unfortunately I wasn't able to do OSL on the mouse in time for my sister's visit, and I didn't take any better photos, so that's all I got for the mouse! She still loved it though, and I'm very happy with the fur texture which was the real feature of the project. Maybe it's for the better anyways - OSL would have hidden some of the fur detailing.

Next up is a bunch of minis for the fantastic board game, Horrified! Gonna go through a few of them I think. Each one is a classic Universal Movie Monster.

First up is the Mummy:

GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"

The bandages were primarily Seraphim Sepia over a primer of Wraithbone, but then I went in with all sorts of off-white highlights and light-brown washes here and there so that some bandages would look more aged than others. Otherwise, the entire mini would just look... the same!

Next, up: Dracula! Modelled after Bela Lugosi's classic version (because of course, it's the Universal classic version).

I decided to keep his eyes in shadow, but from this angle I don't know if the shadows are dark enough for that to work. Thoughts? I feel like I could also benefit from a taaaad more shade on his lips.

Spooky Gwyn! Nice cloak on Drac. I think you might be right on the shade for his eyes, it could also be expanded out to the sides too?

Yeah, definitely going back and fixing the eyes - will repost later once I do.

In the meantime, have a Wolf Man! Painted in the colours of a poster for the movie which I found online (which I'm now realizing was really more blue than green but oh well).
