Just got my Land Raider Proteus.. and I am shocked! Seems like the Land Raider / Spartan side doors are bigger than the Rhino doors of old, so how yall are adding your custom Chapter symbol resin doors to these? Surely these doors must be compatible with some other existing GW kit?!

Or have I missed something and there is currently no way to use our fw chapter resin doors on these new plastic kits?

Probably by using Land Raider doors on a Land Raider?

Wait, so now you are saying that my FW resin Land Raider Armoured Proteus should come with some other doors than what it ships with?

Not all Land Raider doors are created equal..

You're not being very coherent. If your resin FW model (which you did not mention before) came with doors that don't fit it, write to FW and they will sort you out. If you're asking if Rhino doors fit on a plastic Spartan, then no, why would they, Land Raider doors fit on a plastic Spartan.

So you are saying you didn't know Land Raider Armoured Proteus comes with Rhino doors and not Land Raider doors.. Well, it does. It would of course be logical to assume that Land Raider doors fit Land Raiders, but this is GW, so that only makes sense most of the time, not all the time.

Yes, the Armoured Proteus and Land Raider Mk IIB uses Rhino-size doors. People might be excused to think you were taking about the new plastic Proteus given that this is a thread in News & Rumours and the Armoured Proteus is eleven years old.

FW is currently not making neither Land Raider doors nor Mars Rhino doors so you are out of luck regardless of which Land Raider you are using, so what is the point of your rant?

Except Land Raider doors do fit Land Raiders, it's only the weird no-room-inside archaic side sponson design that FW used on AP and 2B that uses Rhino doors. Seeing plastic Proteus doesn't have them, I have no idea why you expected the outlier and not the usual to apply...

Hopefully GW or FW does an Armored Proteus upgrade for the plastic kit.

Are any of those Solar Aux units new?

I know the assassins are.

Dunno, but Garro on FB (where I lifted the pic from) said Sisters of Silence have new units listed.

Which is which I’ve not a clue.

Wonder when we might see the Amadus Assassin and do we think Clade operatives are another more generic unit or just general rules for assassins?

There isn't Liber rules for Militia. They've been relegated to Legacies PDFs.

Unless i've miss-remembered (wouldn't be the first time) or got my info conflated with general here-say (also wouldn't be the first time), I thought it was Militia/Cults get Legacies PDFs, Auxillia got thrown in with Talons in the Liber Imperium and Daemons got a tide-you-over PDF.

EDIT- Went back and hunted out the roadmap from a few months ago. It was.... vague-ish.

WarCom wrote:These will all be supported by Legacies of the Age of Darkness, free downloadable PDFs which contain rules for old Forge World models that aren’t at present planned to return to the current range, so you can use your existing models in the new edition. And on top of that, two additional army lists will be available to download for other factions – the Daemons of the Ruinstorm, and the Imperialis Militia and Warp Cults.
Bolded for emphasis. There's no such PDFs as of this moment. Guess they're still on their way.

Sisters of Silence are getting an unexpectedly large number of new units by the looks of it.

Forgeworld could release more upgrade kits for them, but how many more options could really be made with the base kit?

I was being more then a touch facetious there. Given that the kit already supports 6 different squads in 1.0 rules. There's not much more it can do on it's own.

I mean that could just apply to the mkVI helmets in general if that's what you can see; if anything the skeletal features move the outline further away from 'Rat-boy'.

Not from the side. They have their rat teeth lol

From the front, it’s more of a Kermit look

We'll agree to disagree there I think they're pretty damn good; amongst the better ones, all round.

Hmm,

I like the main helmet, but I think it would benefit from further diversification in the bone style to be honest. I know this has not been the case with all the helmets so far with massive changes to the main 9, but NL's would benefit from it. 1 or 2 of those helmets would be fine, but you want a different bone/terror mask on others as well.

Does anyone know a source for smallish bat wings?

I think the old 40k look too silly with the oversized wings but the 30k raptors look just right but their too expensive for just heads.

These heads look neat and I understand that many don’t want them over the top, but they weren’t what I was hoping for.

Some of the heads from the Corpsegrinder cults would work for NL. Albeit a couple are ridiculous.
